XIII century villa with tower in a typical Chianti village 20km from Siena. The 3 stars property has been restorated in 2005 with improvements in the dining room, bar, living room, and the arrangement of the park and the garden. Olive-yards, vineyards and woods with wonderful view over the Chianti countryside. Guests can swim in the pool dipped in the olive-yard, walk in the park on foot or by bike on the CAI paths, relax in the quiet countryside. The property is based on familiar management which guarantees genuine hospitality and good services. At guests disposal two private parking lots, mountain bikes, international newspapers and foreign languages library. Upon request the reception provides museum tickets, guided tours , wine tastings, cooking classes, horse back riding. L’Hotel San Sano is a perfect base to visit the Tuscany and Umbria areas because very close to Siena, Florence, Arezzo, Perugia. In the hotel cats and dogs are welcome.
The 15 rooms are equipped with old style furniture, brickwork floor, stone walls, wood roofs, air-conditioning, heating, TV Sat, telephone, minibar, safe and wonderful view over the hills. Rooms are located either on the ground floor or on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor. As the building and the tower date back to the XIII century, the hotel has no lift. For this reason please let us know eventual problems with stairs, in order to offer the proper accommodation. Rooms have a queen-size bed which can be converted to twins. Bathrooms are modern and equipped with shower/WC, bidet, hairdryers.
Each morning you will help yourself to a plentiful and varied buffet breakfast with fresh cakes, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit and other choice items.
Restaurant Hotel San Sano. Furniture in farmhouse style, brickwork floor, stone walls, wood roofs, the restaurant maintains many characteristics of the original XIII century building. With good weather breakfast and dinner are served in the garden under the vine bower. The cuisine is one of the most appreciated services of the hotel. In the evening you can enjoy a fixed menu with typical Tuscan strictly based on seasonal products. The chef Franca is at disposal for personalized menu in case of food intolerances and vegetarian diets.
The "strade dei castelli del chianti" (Roads of the Chianti-castles) take you to the natural and historical beauties of the area, and it´s characteristic vineyards, oliveyards and forests. A rich breakfast and a typical tuscan meal in the evening will make your stay in San Sano even more pleasant.
