CASALE MUGNANI has a beautiful setting on the hills of Lucca among olives groves, with a fantastic panorama. South-facing and extremely sunny it is ideal even for a winter break. The main house and a second building have been converted into five flats of different sizes, all furnished with style and taste, combining local tradition and every modern comfort. In the large garden which surrounds the property there is a swimming-pool with a breathtaking view, a solarium, an antique stone fountain, a barbecue area and a play-area for children.
Nature lovers can go for long walks through woods, vineyards and olive groves. Nearby are old churches, historic villas and farms where you perhaps, follow the "Strada del Vino", a route tracking the wine production of tha area.
Trips to the mountain areas of the Apuana Alps and Appenines or sun-bathe on the beaches of Vesilia can be made, and some fascinating towns are within easy reach &endash; Lucca, Pisa, Florence &endash; all of historic and artistic interest.

Nella parte occidentale della Toscana, vicina al mare della Versilia, alle città d'arte di Pisa e di Firenze, troviamo Lucca, città di profonda storia e tradizione che, anc'or oggi si offre al turista nella sua veste antica di città murata. Nelle sue piazze e nelle sue vie i secoli passati sono sempre presenti in ogni angolo. La storia si fonde con il presente regalando sensazioni di tranquillità ormai lontane da chi vive in altre zone. Matraia, dove si trova il complesso "Al Tenente", si trova sulle colline lucchesi, territorio di ville antiche ricolme di storia e di tradizioni che, dall'olio al vino, dalla lavorazione della pietra all'artigianato, rinnovano e confermano quello che da secoli viene tramandato.
