In Camaiore, a valley surrounded by the Apuan Alps and at a distance of only 8 km from the sea, Two antique "Frantoi" (oilmills), renovated in typical Tuscan style, accommodate the B&B "l'Oasi" di Lombrici. The inviting structures hide several original furnishings, which are still intact and functional with its original mechanics by the power of the nearby waterfall. The house is surrounded by a large park with swimming-pool and offers its guests the possibility to enjoy pleasant and lovely evenings in company of the guests and the owners of the house.
Thanks to its special geographical position, "L'Oasi" is located (easy to reach from the highway) near characteristic places (f.e. Monteggiori and Metato, gorgeous villages with sea view), which are spread over the hills of Camaiore. The beautiful beaches of Versilia are at a distance of only ten minutes. In almost the same time you can reach famous cities as Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio, where with a visit you jump into the world of art and its life-style. For lovers of trekking, the Apuan Alps offer a large choice of itineraries and the sea can be reached by mountain-bike. The most raffined mouths will be satisfied by the typical restaurants and winebars divided over the different villages, where the typical Tuscan cuisine as also the "cucina viareggina", which is mainly based on fish, is offered. The way of cooking is based on traditional and innovative recipees.
The owners, the couple Roberto and Roberta, which are present every day, offer their warm hospitality and suggest their guests places to visit and typical dishes to try.
To choose "L'Oasi" means to have the possibility to have a stay in a special atmosphere, which is situated in the quiet and peaceful inland with also sunny beaches and different entertaining events. The cultural cities of Tuscany (Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena, etc.) are reachable in an average travel time of an hour and also by public transport.
The two "Frantoi" have six double rooms, three apartments, one suite and a breakfast hall.
The large breakfast hall is the former deposit room for the olives. Under stone arches, in front of the large fireplace, with windows through which the sun shines and which illuminates the room; this is the right ambience to enjoy breakfast in an intimate atmosphere whilst enjoying good company. During warm summerdays, breakfast can be enjoyed outside.
The rooms are warm and inviting in Tuscan rustic style and furnished with the most modern comforts. The rooms have all a private bathroom, air-conditioning, satellite-television and minibar.
Two apartments, furnished in the same style as the rooms, have a double room and a settee-bed in the living-room. They offer accommodation for four persons and have the same comforts as the rooms. The third apartment with own entrance is situated in the former antique rooms, where the olives were pressed. The rooms with gorgeous stone arches have still today the original millstone and presses. The timbered ceilings of both rooms, a double room with tester-bed and small fireplace and the second double room, offer the possibility of an original and reserved stay, where one can take part of the "life" of the house. The apartment has also three satellite-televisions and an wood oven, to prepare the food in an "antique way".
The pearl of the structure is anyway the beautiful and luxurious suite which is located in the former room of the last oil press. In the middle of the room, between original millstones and baths for the oil cleansing, a tester-bed awaits its guests. Here you will find a rare and unique atmosphere, which is perfect for special occasions.
