Hotel 1000 Miglia, just opened on October 14th 2002, is located in Monteroni d’Arbia, 10 km south of Siena, 15 km from Montalcino, 20/30 min. from other historical towns such as: San Gimignano, Pienza e Montepulciano, from amazing landscapes: le Crete Senesi, il Chianti, the Val d’Orcia and from famous thermal springs like Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo and Rapolano Terme.
Monteroni d’Arbia, originally an agricultural centre, still holds medieval ruins, like the thirteenth-century Mill, the “Grancia” of Cuna, old fortified farm which belonged to the Santa Maria della Scala hospital in Siena and the small village of Lucignano d’Arbia situated along the Via Cassia, next to Siena where pilgrims walking to Rome used to rest.
Monteroni d’Arbia is well connected to the town of Siena both by bus or trains and by bike as the around territory is mostly flat.
There is the possibility of walks, also by bike or mountain-bike on pathways along woods or the “Crete”, breathing fresh air, discovering changing landscapes with, if desired, expert guides.
Hotel 1000 Miglia is located exactly on the side of the “Via Francigena”, where each year the well known Mille Miglia takes place (competition or parade of cars of the epoch) from which the name of our hotel comes.
Hotel offers private parking-area and closed garage for some cars.
Rooms are carefully furnished as the owners, from years already are furniture sellers and interior decorators.
The 15 rooms are provided with all comforts: well-stocked minibar, tv sat, hair-dryer, private telephone, lift, balcony and solarium in some rooms, new heating and air-conditioning system (under the floor in 11 of them). Bathrooms, all private, have shower-box, windows in order to ensure light and a right change of air.
