The house is surrounded by woods of conifer, oak, chestnut and many other broadleaf trees with an undergrowth rich in ferns, mushrooms, cyclamen and various species of orchids. A few steps away a small pool rich in fish, amphibeans and many passing visitors like grey herons and garzette who come here to fish. King fishers and Jays which nest, foxes, weasles, hedgehogs and rare porcupines which occasionaly make a visit at night. Beautiful and rare butterflies like the Vanessa Camberwell beauty butterfly, the Zerinitia and the Ilia who have chosen these woods and fields to live in and reproduce. A few kilometers from here is the famous Padule of Fucecchio, a protected area rich in animals and plants typical of the this sort of marshy environment.
